Overview of the Awards Scheme

The ACE Awards scheme is dedicated to celebrating and recognizing organizations and individuals, primarily based in Ghana, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to fostering positive mental health and overall wellbeing among their employees. This recognition highlights those entities that prioritize mental wellness within their workplace culture and actively contribute to the enhancement of employee wellbeing.

Participation in the awards is open to both organizations and individuals who have taken proactive roles in championing employee mental wellbeing. Submissions are encouraged from selected organizations that have implemented impactful initiatives, policies, or practices that support mental health in the workplace.

The awards aim not only to honor excellence but also to inspire broader adoption of best practices for workplace mental health. By showcasing exemplary organizations and leaders, the ACE Awards provide a platform to share innovative ideas, evidence-based interventions, and success stories that can motivate others to invest in employee wellbeing. The program emphasizes the critical importance of workplace mental health, particularly in today’s dynamic and challenging business environment, where the psychological resilience and happiness of employees are essential for sustained organizational growth and productivity.

In addition to raising awareness, the ACE Awards create opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing mental health in the workplace. The scheme encourages knowledge exchange and the dissemination of tools, resources, and strategies that organizations of all sizes can adopt to build more supportive and inclusive work environments. Through this recognition, the ACE Awards contribute to shaping a future where mental wellbeing is a strategic priority for every employer.

CATEGORIES

PART ONE:- SPECIAL AWARDS

  • DEI CHAMPION OF THE YEAR – This award would recognize an employer that has demonstrated a commitment to promoting and celebrating diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Specifically, the award measures the efforts made by an employer regarding the accommodation of PWDs in the workplace, availability, and effectiveness of support systems for pregnant and nursing mothers, effective affirmative action policies and procedures regarding closing the gender gaps in employment as well as equity in recruiting and compensation of persons from difference, gender, age groups, races, ethnicity, and religion.

 

  • EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING CHAMPION OF THE YEAR: This award would recognize an employer that has exceeded expectations in promoting the overall well-being of employees through initiatives such as wellness programs, health benefits, and work-life balance policies.

 

  • MOST INNOVATIVE HR PRACTICE ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR: This award would recognize an employer that has been proactive and implemented innovative HR practices that have positively impacted on the workplace culture and the employee wellness and wellbeing experience.

 

  • BEST EAP TECHNOLOGY OF THE YEAR: This category recognizes the use of a product or technology which assists organizations with their workplace mental wellbeing programmes. Recipient may be in Ghana or outside Ghana and must be able to demonstrate how the solution supports mental wellbeing in the client organization(s), including the results and impact it achieved its user friendliness as well. Products or technology could include but are not limited to physical products, courses, and technological products such as apps or Employee Assistant Programmes. Approved client testimonials will be required for this category.

PART TWO :– ACE INDUSTRY AWARDS

This award recognizes employers in the selected Industries who have developed and are executing workplace policies to protect, develop, and holistically care for their employees through effective mental health initiatives, healthy and flexible work environments, employee growth initiatives, job happiness initiatives, and promoters of good workplace ethics. More so, these employers observe best employee wellbeing practices in line with their industrial standards. Industry categories include but are not limited not the underlisted:

PART THREE – OVERALL/ HIGHEST RECOGNITION

AUTHENTIC & CARING EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR

This award would recognize an employer that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to creating a caring, supportive, and positive workplace culture that highly values employees’ well-being, growth, and development. Such an employer should demonstrate and foster a culture shift amongst their staff creating an open and positive mental wellbeing environment. The authenticity of the Employers duty of care is imperative to win the overall ACE Award.

 

PART FOUR – HONOREE CITATIONS

EMPLOYEE WELL BEING THOUGHT LEADER HONOREE

This recognizes an individual who has demonstrated commitment to and excellence in sharing inspiring stories and challenging the narrative through thought leadership platforms in the promotion of employee wellness and wellbeing for the advancement and development of employees and ultimately the organizations the employees work with.

WORKPLACE WELLNESS COACH HONOREE

This recognizes an individual who has demonstrated commitment to and excellence in the coaching practice of promoting employee wellness and wellbeing for the advancement and development of employees and ultimately the organizations the employees work with.

WORKPLACE WELLNESS THERAPIST HONOREE

This recognizes an individual who has demonstrated commitment to and excellence in the therapy practice of promoting employee wellness and wellbeing for the advancement and development of employees and ultimately the organizations the employees work with.

WORKPLACE WELLNESS TRAINER HONOREE

This recognizes an individual who has demonstrated commitment to and excellence in the training practice of promoting employee wellness and wellbeing for the advancement and development of employees and ultimately the organizations the employees work with.

WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH PROMOTION – NGO HONOREE

This recognizes an NGO in Ghana who has demonstrated commitment to and excellence in the promoting employee wellness and wellbeing for the advancement and development of employees and ultimately the organizations the employees work with.

JURY’S CHOICE HONOREE: OUTSTANDING LIFETIME SERVICE TO MENTAL WELLBEING

This discretionary recognition is given to an individual or organization that the Jury feels deserves recognition for their years of work in promoting excellence in mental well-being. This lifetime achievement award recognizes an individual who has devoted much of their working life to improving workplace mental health in Ghana.

CORPORATE MENTAL HEALTH EXECUTIVE HONORS

This citation of honour recognizes an individual in an executive position for being a beacon and a trailblazer in their immense contribution to workplace wellbeing and mental health in any industry.

CORPORATE WELLBEING AMBASSADOR

This citation of honour recognizes an individual as a Corporate Wellbeing Ambassador for demonstrating commitment, distinctive dedication, and excellence in the practice of promoting employee wellbeing for the development and advancement of your employees and ultimately your organization.
